The Tuxedo
Dreamworks Pictures presents a Vanguard Films production
Starring: Jackie Chan Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jason Isaacs
Directed by: Kevin Donovan
Plot: A dorky cab driver(Jackie) is chosen to be the driver for a super agent with a super tuxedo. Everything is peachy until an explosion leaves are agent in the hospital, he tells Jackie to put the tuxedo on. So he does and now he can do everything he could ever imagine, dance, fight, and climb walls. He is teamed up with another agent(Hewitt) who doesn't really know anything. So these two haft to stop a terrorist from Posionning the Earth's water supply.
Acting: Well what can you say this is a Jackie Chan movie. Jackie was perfect as always his way of making himself be so shy and be the only action hero that lets himself get beat up is amazing. Not like Snipes or any others who haft to make themselves look bad ass through out their movies. Jackie gets beat up and makes fun of himself. The rest of cast is pretty good. Hewitt is what she usually does is be bouncy and do her I'm good looking but I don't want to do much else act. I was amazed by the fact that Jason Isaacs played this 10 minute role as the secret agent Jackie gets the tuxedo from. But hey if it gets you a pay check why not.
Directing/Writing: Well its good for a Jackie Chan movie. Actually its pretty fun, they make you laugh through it and the fact that this tuxedo is just so cool keeps the movie going. Sadly it was too much silly not enough action, the fight scenes are small and limited for a Chan movie. For example that last fight is not that impressive where they have a chance to make a fun ten minute fight scene that would leave people going "wow" but instead made it real quick leaving you kind of disapointed well at least for me.
Overall: This is the most fun I've had in a movie in a while. The action and the comedy worked so well that when things got out of hand at the time I didn't care because they put you in a place where you just laugh and enjoy and you don't care about little nit picky things. Only later did I realize the only things I slightly didn't like, and get me straight SLIGHTLY didn't like were. The fact that Hewitt's character was suppose to be the helpless cutie, but all of a sudden in some scenes she could fight amazingly, that confused me. I also would have liked if they tried to stay away from the James Bond moking or copying I'm not sure which it was. Altogether good lord I'm happy this movie came out because last week was depressing.
