Rating: ****

Plot: In a world where super hero's are loved there is a high school just for them. The biggest and best super hero's a married team, The Commander (Kurt Russel) and Jet Stream (Kelly Preston) are beloved and fighting giant robots is a daily thing. Their son Will (Michael Angarano) is sent to Sky High the high school for super hero off spring. Sadly Will finds himself having no powers and fears losing respect for the family name. He must deal with regular high school dealings but in this case they are extreme. The bullies have super powers as does the coach played by the amazing Bruce Campbell. The plot might seem weak and here and there the movie is corny but in a way everything just works. With many inside jokes into comic books and movies this movie comes off quit pleasant and would work really well with kids and teens. Hard to bash a movie like this one, I mean it has Bruce "Yo she bitch lets go) Campbell.

Acting: I've never really seen Michael Angarano before or maybe I just don't recognize him but as the main character he was really good. He plaid the generally nice character very well and in such an over the top movie like this to actually care for the main character is difficult but he is really good at pulling you in. His character is decently generic in places and takes some major things in stride, like personally if I found out I had super strength I would be pumped, he slightly shrugs it off but I guess that's the point. Kurt Russel easily owns this movie. Every scene he dominates with his presence, he is just a bad ass and looked as if he had a lot of fun with the role. Kelly Preston was wasted in my opinion I think the women is quit lovely and a good actress and here she plays the general pissed off mom. Now Bruce Campbell plays Coach Boomer who has a super sonic voice and he makes the decision of who becomes the hero or the looked down upon title of side kick. My only comment is there were simply not enough scenes with him in it, that's it. Every scene he was in was great and it made me sad he was not used at the end wisely. There are some other great moments from members of Strangers with Candy and Wonder Woman herself Lynda Carter.

Directing/Writing: Very similar to the under rated Galaxy Quest this film takes a shot at the Super Hero genre. I must admit I enjoyed most of this movie. Many cute moments and laugh out loud funny moments. Kids movies except for Pixar films are on a down fall but this film showed so much creative moments. Many Disney Channel plot lines involving love stories and what not but it's not gut wrenching like expected. My only major complaint is the bad guy in the film called Major Pain is simply under used and I believe comic book hero's are only as good as the villains they face and this one just sucks except for one moment that reminded me of Green Goblin from the first Spider-man. Besides that this movie almost feels note perfect where I laughed many times and fully enjoyed myself through out the entire movie. Maybe it was because I had really no expectations while viewing it might have helped but I really think this movie is perfect for anyone at any age.

Overall: Kurt Russel rocks and Bruce Campbell is a God, he is my God actually now thinking about it. If you like comics or light hearted films this movie needs to be on your must see list.
