Old School
Dream Works pictures presents a Montecito Picture company production
Starring: Luke Wilson Will Ferrel Vince Vaughn
Directed by: Todd Phillips
Plot: A bunch a thirty year olds decide after their friend has a disaster with his girl friend and gets a house near a college they decide to make a sorority. Trying to hide this from their wife's they simple get into trouble and some very funny shit ensues.
Acting: Ok, This is a movie you can't exactly poke at about acting. I haft to say it must be hard to do comedy and these guys are the best. Something about Luke Wilson is funny and Vince Vaughn is too good at playing an ass hole its amazing. The man who makes this movie work and keep on its feet though is Will Ferrel. I don't think many people knew how good he was when he was on SNL. Now they shall see because he does stuff that in most cases just wouldn't be funny, but he easily makes it work. This movie did a great job at if a scene started to slow down with the plot they would toss him in and do something to just make you go nuts. I can't wait to see Will in something else if he can stay on the note he was on in this movie.
Directing/Writing: Very funny plot line I think and the use of adding in such little things here and there really impressed me on how this movie worked. They would slow down seriously enough that when they do something funny it really sticks with you it great. The trailer might confuse some and might actually make people stay away since things look so random but they are not. This is not that piece of shit Jack Ass movie that came out in the summer. This movie even with some randomness works well through out and I seriously think is one of the funniest movies in the last decade.
Overall: I needed a good laugh a lot of stupid movies like Final Destination 2 and other pieces and of crap have been out and making me feel shitty inside. This just let me laugh for about an hour and forty five minutes and I think everyone needs that right now.
