Narc
Presented by Paramount Pictures and Lions Gate films
Starring: Jason Patric and Ray Liotta
Written and Directed by: Joe Carnahan
Plot: It starts off fast and puts you right into the action. The movie is about a detective who made a mistake in the line of duty is put on a case that is in the shadows. A under cover cop was killed and he and the partner of the dead cop go busting down doors to find the killers. As the movie goes on we loose trust in both men and the end will leave you in a throw back which I have not felt in a long time.
Acting: Jason Patric is very impressive in this having this calm attitude towards even the most intense moments. The scenes where he and his wife fight about his career felt real not pulling at strings. The stand out performance is by Ray Liotta who I don't remember him doing anything this good. He brings the attitude we all slightly wish cops had. I wanted his character to win all the way even if he was breaking all the rules. When you see these two men on screen your socks will be knocked off at these amazing performances.
Writing/Directing: This is one of the more daring films out there. This movie at first is just like cop show with good acting until the very end where they totally caught me off guard. I was very impressed with not only the acting but the filming. A very isolated and dark movie which I really loved. It pulls you into a very realistic sictuation and not only do you feel fear but caring for both characters.
Overall: One of the greater cop movies out there. The ending is totally worth it and the rest of the movie is pretty cool too. I heard this movie was made for less then 5 million. Very impressive.
