MINORITY REPORT

Twentieth Century Fox and Dreamworks Pictures present a Steven Spielberg film. Starring: Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell, and Samantha Morton.

Plot:

I have to make sure I don’t give anything away about this plot.  But the basic plot is: in the future there exists Pre-crime where three teleopathic people can sees murders before they happen, so a police force capture these people before they kill. The Pre-crime process has been flawless until its leader (Tom Cruise) is seen shooting somebody out a window. So now he is running away from the police force which he used to control. He believes that a federal investigator (Colin Farrell) is setting him up. Then the twists start and some major sci-fi action happens, and I was loving every second of it.

Acting:

This is one of the better movies Tom Cruise has done in a while.  I did like Vanilla Sky but this was much more impressive than that. Tom has more than just an action hero feeling in this movie and he made me realize why he is the top actor of the last decade. Colin Farrell was very good in this.  I loved this guy when I saw Tigerland.  And I was upset seeing him in the disappointing American Outlaws.  But he was great in Hart¹s War, which did not get the respect it deserved.  And now he is getting the parts he really should get, one’s in which he can show his acting talent.

Directing/Writing:

This has to be one of my favorite movies of all time and it was because of Spielberg’s directing and the screen play by Scott Frank and Jon Cohen, based on the short story by Phillip K. Dick. It was a great short story, turned into a great screen play, which lead to a great movie. Spielberg brought a darkness to the movie that was needed.  It was something Kubric might have done.  I loved what he did with A.I., which also did not get the right credit.  He used all the actors to their limit and made this movie stand out with a futuristic style of how highways will look and how weapons will work.  He has made a great vision of what the future really could be. Spielberg has made one of the better science fiction films of its time.

Overall:

I think you guys now know that I loved this movie so much cause besides of its action feel.  It had such great twists, and the feel just made me happy to watch it.  With so many horrible films being poured out during the summer, it was a pleasure to see such a smart inventive movie.  And the teaming of Cruise and Spielberg was just great.  So hopefully this movie goes through the summer on Cruise control...haha sorry just had to say that.
