The Italian Job

Plot: A group of cool guys make a heist in Italy and steal a large amount of gold. Everything is going fine until one of their own (Norton) pulls a quick one and steals the gold from them and kills their leader. Sometime later the group wants pay back and picks up the dead guy daughter who of course can crack safe's, she joins the team and they plan to steal back their gold. Mini Cooper action ensues.

Acting: This is one of those what I like to call simple but fun action movies. Like the cast isn't amazing, but its not bad. I don't really feel like going through them one by one but here is an over view.

Mark Wahlberg- This guy is trying but I seriously lost all hope when I saw The Truth About Charlie I was dieing. I liked Planet of the Apes that was fun but he has not shown anything very impressive. This movie is the same really he stands around and smiles and has maybe two good lines but does not really do anything as a leading man.

Charlize Theron- What happened to this woman, she was so close to super star and then just vanished for a while. I mean she's great in this movie she just brings charm in every scene and she drives a Mini so yeah she kicks ass.

Edward Norton- This guy didn't even want to do this movie, so the fact that he is the best thing in the movie next to the Mini's without trying is something amazing. He is so good at playing uptight jack asses its great. Something about him just makes him charming even though you hate his character. But he did not drive a Mini so he was not as cool as he should have been haha.

Jason Statham, Mos Def, Seth Green- These boys are the side characters and they are just great! Without them this movie would suck so hard. Each of them bring something to the movie and keep it going. Mos Def is funny in places and Jason Statham from The Transporter just is so kick ass. Seth Green is funny as always the "Speakers so big they will blow womans clothes off" is just great. There is this thing with his character where he claims he built Napster and someone stole his idea while he was napping(That is why it is called Napster, not funny). That entire bit did not work and they keep bringing it up and that pissed me off. Whatever Statham rules!!!

Directing/Writing: This movie is really nothing very special until the last maybe 45 minutes. Its a heist movie with good set up and cute moments. Its the end which will just leave you cheering. This thing they do where they have three beautiful Mini Coopers being chased by these guys on motor cycles is just SO GOOD I was having such a great time watching it. I don't really want to set up the scene because I will ruin stuff, but trust me its great. The thing with the helicopter chasing after the Mini was good too I might add. This movie is just a lot of fun with characters who just have fun, and steal. So I really have no big complaints with this movie. Like it moves fast and your never bored and then it blows you away at the end. I wish the trailers didn't show as much as they did because then I would have even had more fun.

Overall: Mini's rock my ass, and yours. This movie was the most rocking fun time of the summer. Like this and X2 are at the top. Reloaded failed to impress me but this movie totally broke the standards I gave it before seeing it and I was surprised that I enjoyed myself this much. My only question was its called The Italian Job but yet the movie is set in Italy for maybe 15 minutes, whatever.
