Plot: Cousins Bo and Luke Duke deliver moon shine for a living, but when they find out local ass hole Boss Hogg tries to mine their home town of Hazard Georgia they take action. Lots of car chases and Jessica Simpson showing off her talent aka her boobs and ass ensue.

Acting: What can I say? Willie Nelson is a bad ass and is basically Willie Nelson in the movie so that's not really acting. Jessica Simpson shows off her figure and smiles a lot, that's not acting. Johnny Knoxville gets his ass kicked a number of times, he's also almost blown up a number of times, also not acting. So what should I write about? Stiffler, uh I mean Seann William Scott is actually very likable in this movie playing a man in love with his kick ass car the General Lee. He's much funnier than Johnny Knoxville in the movie and basically steals the show so if you're a fan of the American Pie series because of his character, or you really like the Rundown you might really love this movie. Besides him Burt Reynolds plays Boss Hogg an uber bad ass. He was very good and every time he was on screen the movie has more to it. The thing about this movie is it is so light hearted and goofy that acting really doesn't matter. Knoxville and Scott work off each other very well as does the rest of the cast so it just works. This movie is not serious in anyway and the actors know it. Now Jessica Simpson comes in to play Daisy Duke. Recently it has been advertised that she had a major role and she was fantastic in it. This must have been males who wrote these praises because she basically strips for the entire movie. Now for most that is not a bad thing, but she doesn't exactly show off any acting talent. Just her talent to wear tight and revealing clothes.

Directing/Writing: Why is this movie so enjoyable? One reason the car chases, and there are many of them and they are all very well filmed. Chandrasekhar a member of the comedy group Broken Lizard is director and he brought his buddies along too who have minor roles but still. I very much admire how he made this film, no CGI cars like 2 Fast 2 Furious just using real cars and drive them around and film. I dug it every chase had me smiling. This movie just flows with good time. The plot is stupid and a lot of characters seem pointlessly there (Daisy Duke) but the movie just flows. You'll laugh at some jokes smile at car chases and you'll leave nothing special. The one thing I would like to bring up is the fact they decided to keep the Confederate Flag on the General Lee, I admire the bravery to do this and actually keep it like they did in the show. It is brought up in the film, people pull over and yell at the Duke boys and call them racists. So it balances out in the end. I have to say my favorite stuff was the car chases and the jumps and General Lee herself, also a hell of a fun bar fight at the beginning but beyond that this movie is about two guys fucking around. But hell if Jackass can make money this sure can.

Overall: Simply a good time, seriously turn your brain off before going into this one, if you even think about the plot your mind will explode at how shitty it is. Just laugh and have fun that's what this movie is about. Fans of the television show should enjoy this because it pays many respects to the show especially the General Lee. Also just to note I really hope this movie isn't some sort of launching pad for Jessica Simpson because if she ever has to be a character who keeps her clothes on, she's doomed.
