X2

Starring: Hugh Jackman Halle Barry Anna Paquin and so many more that I just don't want to list because I am lazy

Directed by: Bryan Singer

Rating:****

Plot: After a mysterious mutant attacks the white house the X-men investigate only to find they are being hunted by a military crazy man who wants to wipe out all mutants, the problem is he is the key that will unlock Wolverine's past.

Acting: I hate when people compare the last X-Men movie to this one. The acting was totally different. In the first one Wolvie was in a new place and everything was being discovered, the entire movie was set up nothing more. This one the discovery has been made and the war has begun. Hugh Jackman does a all out bang up bad ass job once again, I love this guy he is too cool. The rest of the cast has improved as well from the first. Most of the characters besides Cyclops get more lines and screen time. This script was very well done is it dove deeper into character and the darker sides of each character. The newest additions to the group are Pyro and Night Crawler played by Alan Cummings. Night Crawler can transport himself anywhere while Pyro well of course can control fire. I don't want to give so much away but they show how easily someone can easily go bad while it is harder for someone to choose to be good. Whatever who cares about acting in a movie like this, I mean it helped A LOT but I really just wanted to se mutant action.

Directing/Writing: More action very smart. Most of the fight scenes in this movie kicked ass. You know they are good when you get chills down your back watching them. When Night Crawler attacks the White House it is just amazing to watch. The one scene that is just the best is Wolverine kicking the asses of about ten special mutant hunter that was just great. This movie does a very good job of keeping the action under control with a lot of character development and all the rest. My only problem with this movie was the editing too many quick cuts in bad places. Maybe this was because they had to cut some stuff down to get a pg-13 rating but oh well. I just hope the dvd adds the scenes back in because that would make the movie even better. In the end those quick cuts bothered me through the movie but I guess mutant fighting made for that.

Overall: This movie needed a little more structure to it. It has a feeling in which it is too spread out and random. I guess when you have so many characters that can easily happen. Basically this movie is a lot of fun with a lot of big bangs and special effects, so when the day is done X2 did its job well.
