Kill Bill Vol.1
Miramax Pictures presents a Band Apart production
Starring: Uma Thurman Lucy Liu Vivica A. Fox Daryl Hannah
Directed by: Quentin Tarantino
Plot: A group of killers all named after snakes are perfect at what they do. Once one them decides to leave and get married. Her buddies kill her, well at least they think they kill her. After getting out of a coma the are hero finds herself in a world in a little different then she thought she'd be in. She decides to hunt down the people who tried to kill her, leading to the man she used to work for. Bill. Lots of sword play and basically kick ass film making ensues.
Acting: Well anyone in a Tarantino movie comes out looking like a great actor because his style just controls an audience. I haft to say I absolutely love Uma Thurman. She totally rocks in this movie you just love how much of a bad ass she is while also she is so frail and seemingly innocent. Lucy Liu who I love just for the fact that she is doing a movie which is in a way making fun of the Charlie's Angels crap. She does what she has to and does it well. Daryl Hannah is not in this movie very much she only has one scene. She will have much more screen time in volume 2. While Vivica A. Fox who also does not have the much screen time still has an ability to just steel scenes, well you'll see. This movie is simply all about Uma Thurman many shots show her glowing hair and the camera just loves her. What I really enjoy about watching her act is the way she uses pacing and certain ways to control the pacing of a film. I really this this was a great casting choice for this film and maybe the role was written for her. I heard before seeing this movie that her husband left her for some model and they had two kids together. WHAT A JACK ASS!!! Sorry I just had to bring that up because that has been annoying me for a couple days.
Directing/Writing: I have come to a clear conclusion that Quentin Tarantino is a god. I remember watching Pulp Fiction and was just amazed at the talent shown through the camera. Then I rented Reservoir Dogs and I saw one of my favorite movies of all time. Jackie Brown was good but not exactly my favorite movie, still a lot of fun and any movie with Sam Jackson in it is a good ride. Man I even loved Tarantino is his acting bits in From Dusk Till Dawn and Desperado where he had like a two second scene, but still great! Anyway I really just can't explain how much I admire this film. After seeing a lot of junk over the last few months it is great to watch a movie like this in which you can laugh and just stare at the amazement of a brilliant film on a giant screen. I haft to say Tarantino knows how to have a good time. With a knife fights, quick cuts, quick and smart dialogue and one amazingly kick ass Samurai Sword fight at the end makes this one of the better movies in a long time. Why do you ask? Its campy all the weird cuts and homage's to old Japanese films is just staggering, I lost count of all of them. Now if you don't like blood, do not see this movie!!! People loose heads and arms and even eyes at points. I mean its over the top violence but it is still violence in which some people will not be able to take. If your not one of those people and blood is not a problem I plead to you to go see this movie this gets Andy's serious approval of excellence, if you don't know what that is, it simply means to get your ass in gear and go to a Cineplex or wherever and watch this movie!!! Why are you not leaving? Oh you want to read the overall part at the end of this review right? Well her you go...
Overall: This is one of my shortest reviews in a while mainly because this movie kicks so much ass... So go see it I know I am going to get a second viewing of it as soon as possible. I also can't wait for February to see Volume 2 =`)
